Description
Gillette, Wyoming - A dragline excavator moves earth at a surface coal mine in Wyoming's Powder River Basin. The machine's huge size can be judged by comparison with the bulldozers just to its right. The dragline is powered by electricity through a cable running through the center of the picture. The Powder River Basin is the largest coal mining region in the United States.
